Château Lafite Rothschild
Owners of the Château Lafite Rothschild for 5 generations, the Rothschild family have been tied to the vineyards of Bordeaux since 1868 and today also own châteaux Lafite Rothschild, Duhart Milon, l’Evangile and Rieussec.
The vineyard is one of the largest in the Médoc at 107 hectares, and produces around 35,000 cases annually, of which between 15,000 and 25,000 are first growth wines.
Across all vintages Lafite Rothschild is one of the most expensive wines which can be bought with the price of its 2005 and 2000 vintage fetching over £10,000 per case.
In addition to the wines produced from their prestigious vineyards, the Barons de Rothschild have for many years created a range of wines which are easier to drink on a daily basis. They were called the « », as at the beginning they were destined for close friends and family. To perpetuate the essence of these Réserves, the Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) decided to make them available in four of the most important Bordeaux appellations: Bordeaux, Bordeaux dry white, Médoc and Pauillac. By creating this « COLLECTION », DBR (Lafite) has demonstrated its determination to offer real classic Bordeaux wines for immediate pleasure.
