Christophe Robin was born in August 1971 in Troyes. His passion for colour dates back to his childhood. When he was 14, he began his training and discovered a real and fascinating profession : colorist. Even then, he knew that this was his calling.
A million miles from his everyday world…he dreamt of glamour and sequins.
At the beginning of the 90s, at just 19 years of age, Christophe Robin is shaking up the colouring world. He is turning this discipline, previously regarded as a secondary service in salons and viewed with some apprehension by clients, into an essential fashion asset, more important than the actual cut. Women can now view colouring as make-up to make them shine. Two years later, he is chosen by Jean-Louis David training team and comes to Paris to become a Trainer Assistant. Immediately, his natural sense for pedagogy and professional qualities consecrates him as Jean-Louis David Artistic Manager to elaborate new tint techniques for the franchising.
When 24, Christophe Robin opened the first parisian salon exclusively dedicated to colour and hair-care : farewell to the era when colouring was relegated to the back of the hairdressing salon or the basement, to the time when the sole purpose of colouring was to hide grey hair…,
Christophe is turning colour and the role of the colourist into a noble skill: from a simple technician to an artist!
Immediately, all the greatest fashion magazines were talking about him… And the most famous actresses flocked to the rue du Mont Thabor : Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Adjani, Emmanuelle Béart, Kristin Scott-Thomas among others.
Christophe wished to create a “color salon” as an oasis of tranquility and fun – someplace in a pretty court yard where he could received his clients, just as he received his friends at home.
Christophe Robin has the gift of being able to make his clients feel comfortable and to welcome them as if to his own home. From his first salon-apartment in the back of a courtyard in Rue Mont-Thabor to his new area in Le Meurice Hotel, he has created a haven of peace and luxury in harmony with his clientele.
Since April 2004, Christophe has been working for L’Oréal Paris as a colorist creator and helps evolve products new formulation for L’Oréal Paris.evoted exclusively to the color and care to him to take just a good care of his clients as of the celibrities with whom he works. “My clients don’t come to my salon, they come into my home.”
Christophe is winning the recognition and trust of the biggest fashion designers (John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent), photographers (Mondino, Lindberg, Goude, Issermann) and directors (Besson).
He learned how to work with the lights on set and to understand what the photographer expected from the hair for the desired end result. “It was then that I really learned how to use hair color to enhance a model’s eyes and complexion to their best advantage”, he would later say. “I also learned to anticipate and express desires which could not be easily explained in words.”
