Part of the italian RCS Media Group, in 2012 Flammarion Group was acquired by Madrigall, parent company of Éditions Gallimard- one of the leading French publishing houses. Gallimard was founded in 1911 in Paris by Gaston Gallimard as Les Éditions de la Nouvelle Revue Française.
