The Dorchester occupies the most prestigious acre-and-a half of real estate in the world; in the heart of London overlooking the glorious green expanse of Hyde Park. The preferred hotel of British society, The Dorchester embodies the highest service values, while its design and character exude 1930′s glamour with a contemporary edge.
Prized for its spacious and beautifully designed rooms and suites, The Dorchester’s restaurants and bars – Alain Ducasse, China Tang, The Grill and The Promenade – also attract Londoners and the glitterati alike. The Dorchester Spa was recently transformed to create the most desirable and indulgent pampering destination in London with a uniquely named Spatisserie for tea and cake.
The Ballroom Suite at The Dorchester re-opened in September 2011 following a restoration to its 1930′s classic, art-deco interiors, originally designed by Oliver Ford, internationally recognised for his impeccable taste. Under the guidance of international interior architectural design studio, Alex Kravetz Designs Ltd, The Ballroom has been carefully renovated and refreshed to offer London an even more elegant destination venue.
It is one of the few grand ballrooms in London to offer award-winning à la carte dining and can seat 500 for dinner and 1,000 for a cocktail reception.
The Dorchester is also set to unveil 22 new suites revamped by New York-based interior designer, Alexandra Champalimaud. Launching this autumn, the new design will pay homage to the hotel’s inherently British, classic residential style while administering a lighter, more modern interpretation.
